Let's talk via blog.

I love to learn new things, so the fact that we had to create our own blog for the purpose of this class was a great learning experience for me. Since I am not an enthusiast of virtual communities I would probably not come across blogging for a long time if not for this class.
Great majority of Baruch students, including me, are people who have a lot of responsibilities outside of school, but in addition to that, they want to obtain excellent education. I feel like one of the thing that is difficult to upkeep for students like us, who try to juggle so many things and usually exchange only a quick hi or bye, is the learning about and from each other experience that if not more important, then probably at least as useful as book knowledge. I think that this blog writing assignment gave us some ground to maintain this contact with other classmates.
The assignments that I liked the most were the ones that asked for reflecting on our group class activities such as, the eggscellent way to plan and our whole class debate on our grades. Writing these blogs made me think about the actual group processes that took place and about group dynamics. Although I didn’t comment a lot, I found the topics that were posted on the professor’s blog very interesting and a great way to think about my own position on some issues.
I have never liked writing diaries and a blog is a kind of a diary so I don’t think that I will continue to post my thoughts right after this class ends. However, I am going to keep the account for my blog. I believe that whatever I learn now may be useful in the future, and the familiarity with writing blogs may prove to be one of these things.

I agree with you because i am not a fan of keeping up a diary myslef. Although, i have to say, i enjoyed posting various ideas on the blog and sharing them with my classmates.Lack of time will also prevent me from writing on it andsuch but hopefully i learned the importance of sharing your thoughts with th group and their value in making the decision.
Have a great summer.

Well, I moved to Baruch College in Fall 2007, and I felt the culture/atmospher/environment or whatever you want to call it, is very different. This is especially exemplify in a campus that is built upward and located in the middle of a busy city street. I found it hard to meet people in the VC and the Library building. The 23rd Street Building is quieter and the vibe there is not as speedy, but there is not a lot of people hang out there.

So here you have a mini model of the situation of megapolitan City life: A world where there is a lot of people, but you do not know anything about them; or you know many people, but you know very little about them.

Baruch College is one of the few campus in New York City that lacks a greenery, a common area where people hang out, chill, and interact. The little area in front of the VC or on Bernard Baruch Way does not do because not everyone is a smoker and it is dangerous to hang out on the edge of traffic.

The blog that our professor started is a revolution.

What revolution is it or what does it mean to you is up to you or each individual to comment, nonetheless, the professor has started a revolution.

I agree, blogging was a wonderful experience, since it was my first time, maybe. The thing I loved the most about blogging was that we got chance to speak to each other about topics discussed in the class and sharing opinions with others added to that.
have a wonderful summer and rest of the semester.

You are right about students being too busy to have time to interact with each other outside class and this blog definitely gave us a great way to do so. Like you, I do not think I would keep writing the blog, I honestly wish I could, but time constraint is my big issue.

I agree with the blog is hard to maintain with everything else going in our lives but it is very helpful. Blog are similar to diary. I think people should be careful about what they put in their blogs because it can be harmful.

There is no such thing as over exposure.

You control what you express, when you want to express, and to whom you express.
